In todays episode Tavis and I first check in to update each other on the happening in our real estate lives and then we take a quick look at the DFW market through the lens of our MLS and what it says about whats trending. 
 
Then we dive in to the news of the day including a few articles that rank Texas against the other states in terms of how expensive insurance  has become and overall tax rates. We also take a look at several new restaurant developments popping up nearby and remind everyone of why we are call the Real Estate Heavy Weights.
 
Lastly I interview Tavis to learn all about his commercial building adventure and he does a great job of explaining how he landed the deal, all of his numbers involved in the project and what might be next for the property!

In today's episode Tavis and Ashton talk about Tiger Wood's new Putt Putt place in Grandscape as well as a new amazing spa that includes 45 pools that is soon to open in Grandscape as well! Governor Abbot is looking to regulate certain real estate investors, Joe Biden is pushing to help first time home buyers. The National Association of Realtors settled a lawsuit and laid the groundwork to change how real estate is transacted in the United States and also may have left many of their members to make much less money. 

Tavis and Ashton sit down with Josiah Smelser. Josiah is an author, podcast host, real estate broker, appraiser and entrepreneur. He currently lives in Alabama with his wife and two kids but makes his way to Tennessee often to grow his short term rental business and help clients do so as well. Josiah talks about his journey that involved starting at Olive Garden to working at a non profit and eventually finding his way to owning over 20 rentals in Fort Worth. After that he shifted and grew his short term business in Tennessee to what it is today where his company brings in over $600k a year in profit. 
Now Josiah is turning his efforts to bigger things and seeking out people that have dreamed big and accomplished amazing things. He hopes to document that and a life of giving and adventure on his new YouTube Channel and podcast.
